On our last trip to New Zealand, my husband and I travelled through the McKenzie Basin in a campervan on the State Highway 8 en route towards Lake Tekapo. This beautiful vast golden basin is also popularly known to the Kiwis as the McKenzie Country with open-sheep grazed grasslands that stretch to the foothills of the mountains. And on a good day one could see the outline of the Southern Alps. Here is a fun fact for all you ‘Lord of the Rings’ fans; this is the region where Peter Jackson filmed the epic battle of the Pelennor fields, where Sauron’s orcs clash between the men of Gondor and Rohan in the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Beautifully painted also, notes to the painting were well written!
Thanks 🙂
It is so lovely!
